THS Plant Mentorship Circle

This  program is designed for creatives and plant people who wish to deepen their practice of learning from the natural world. Whether you’re just beginning your relationship with plants or have been studying for years, this circle is for people who value curiosity, deep listening, and learning in community.

My aim is to help you build an ongoing relationship with the plants, trust your own experiences and facilitate a shared community around plant knowledge that feels empowering.

Our work will involve weaving together the worlds of Western, Chinese, and Southwestern plants, drawing on principles from Chinese Medicine and nervous system regulation. We’ll focus on building deep relationships with the plants through practical plant studies, medicine making, ancestral remembrance, plant meditations, Qi Gong, and somatic practices.

About Amanda:

Amanda has spent over two decades living at the intersection of plants, healing, and creativity. As the founder of the Tucson Herb Store (est. 2003), she’s built a community space where herbal wisdom, artistic spirit, and genuine care for people have always grown side by side.

She holds a Master's in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine and is a trained and licensed Somatic Experiencing practitioner, with deep fluency in both Western and Chinese herbal traditions. Her approach weaves these threads together by drawing on Chinese Medicine's 2,000-year lineage, nervous system awareness, and a genuine love for the enchantment of plants.

Joining the Circle:

This is an in-person mentoring circle limited to five participants. We gather at the shop once a month on a Tuesday morning for two hours. Joining the circle involves a three-month commitment, allowing us to develop relationships with one another and with the plants over time. Your commitment reserves one of the five spaces in the circle for the full three months.

Cost: $75 per month (herbal medicine included).

Fall Session Dates:
September 8, 9:30- 11:30am
September 29, 9:30- 11:30am
October 27, 9:30- 11:30am

The Experience:

In each class I will introduce a different theme or concept in Herbal Medicine. Each gathering features one plant that we explore more deeply through a guided plant meditation. Together we share our observations before learning the plant’s history, energetics, and practical applications.

You will leave with herbal medicine and practices to explore the plant more deeply over the following month.

Themes We Explore:

  • Wu Xing (5 Elements): The turning of the wheel and seasonal direction as guide. Plants through the lens of the 5 elements and working with them to establish and develop rhythm in our lives.

  • The Nervous System: Building plant relationships and practices to grow capacity in our nervous systems. The art of sacred digestion with the help of the plants. Plant support for: down-regulating, sleep, anxiety, and stress.

  • Plant Meditation & Qi Cultivation: Learning about Qi, how we feel it, cultivate it and work with it to connect with our plant friends.

  • Dreaming with the plants. Working with and developing our trust in other ways of knowing the plants: our visions and dreams, and deep listening to expand our relationship and understanding.

  • Foundational, traditional, & historical knowledge about the plants is woven into everything we do.
